Cardiology

Cardiology is a branch of Internal Medicine that aims at preventing, diagnosing and treating disorders of the cardiovascular system. In our centre, we carry out all non-invasive intervention strategies (ECG, (long-term and stress ECG), blood pressure control (acute, long-term), stress tests (stress echocardiography) to detect atherosclerosis, coronary heart diseases, arrhythmias (including atrial fibrillation, ventricular- and supraventricular tachycardia etc.), congestive heart disease, pulmonary hypertension, high blood pressure and pacemaker control. You receive total care, individually designed, including referrals for interventional radiology, vascular surgery, plastic surgery, and physical therapy if necessary.

Another activity of our work deals with prevention and therapy of vascular diseases such as diseases of the arteries, especially those of the brain-supplying vessels (constriction of the carotid artery, stroke) and of the abdominal vessels (for example, aortic aneurysm, stenosis of the renal arteries or the intestinal vessels) which are pertinent to people with arterial hypertension and metabolic syndrome including diabetes mellitus and disorders of lipid metabolism.
