Clinical Immunology

Clinical Immunology is a branch of Internal Medicine dealing with the diagnosis and therapy of diseases caused by disorders of the immune system that protects us from infection through various lines of defense. If the immune system is not working as it should, it can result in disease, such as immune failure or autoimmunity. It is also becoming clear that immune responses contribute to the development of many common disorders not traditionally viewed as immunologic, including metabolic, cardiovascular, and neurodegenerative conditions.

In this section of our centre we aim at treating states of immune failure (primary and secondary immunodeficiency syndromes), aberrant action and reaction of the immune system (autoimmune disorders of various organs including thyroid, large bowel, liver- blood vessels, rheumatic and connective tissue) and unregulated growth of different elements of the immune system.
